Kathy Brand
Mexico Street Photography by Kathy Brand
Exhibition dates: April 18 – May 30
Photography and travel has interested Kathy Brand for more than 25 years.
In the past, most of her work revolved around nature, landscape, architectural and abstract subjects. Taking a landscape photo with a person or two in it was the closest she had gotten to taking photos of local people and/or street photography.
In 2017, she went to a photography workshop in Oaxaca, Mexico to learn how to take better pictures of the people and their culture. She ended up going back three more times for more training: Puebla in 2018, Juchitan in 2019, and Morelia in 2020.
Her instructor is Marcela Taboada from Oaxaca, Mexico. Marcela is a freelance photographer who has been a part of many exhibits and won many awards.
